Hello, I'm Jessica,
a dedicated and passionate gentle sleep coach/sleep consultant and certified birth & postpartum doula based in Richmond, VA, proudly licensed, insured, and certified by DONA INTERNATIONAL.
My mission is simple -- to provide you with a sense of relief and ease while moving through one of the most paramount (and thrilling) transitions for your family.
I hope to empower you and your family through this experience, whether it’s your first child, or fifth. I only offer personalized and intimate birth and postpartum doula support because I believe your care and recovery should take all your needs into consideration and offering a plan that is as unique and nurturing as your relationship with your little one. My mission is to create a harmonious transition into parenthood, fostering confidence, well-being, and resilience within every family I serve.
My journey into the world of doula support has been shaped by my rich heritage, rooted in the strong traditions of my Italian American family.
Growing up as the oldest in my family, with a Marine Corps veteran father and a mother who balanced a career on Wall Street, I learned the value of dedication, resilience, and the importance of supporting one another.
Our family's roots trace back to Italy, and the legacy of strong, independent, and high-achieving women has always inspired me.
Their influence has shaped me into the confident and compassionate doula I am today.
Growing up & family values
My values have shaped everything regarding the care and support I offer.
Raised amidst the warm embrace of my Italian American family, I was blessed to be surrounded by powerful, successful women who have left an indelible mark on my life.
As the oldest in my family, I was fortunate to witness the strength and determination of my parents, both of whom paved their unique paths to success.
My father, instilled in me the essence of discipline, honor, and dedication, traits that have become the foundation of my character.
My mother, a Wall Street professional who chose family when I arrived in 1993, demonstrated the art of balancing career aspirations with nurturing a loving home.
Why I felt called to become a Doula
However, it was the women in my family who truly shaped my identity.
Generations of strong, independent Italian women, each with her story of triumph, inspired me to dream big and work hard. Their accomplishments, both in the professional sphere and within our family, showcased the power of resilience and determination. From the courage of my great-grandmothers, who migrated to the Americas in the early 1900s, to the tenacity of my sisters, I learned that being a successful woman means embracing challenges and turning them into opportunities.
Their influence ignited my passion for empowering women, especially those navigating the transformative journey of motherhood. It was their wisdom that led me to become a certified birth & postpartum doula, a role I cherish deeply.
Guided by their examples, I am committed to offering unwavering support to fellow women, helping them embrace their innate strength during one of life's most profound experiences.
